Beef brisket is a delicious dish that is very easy to cook on a BBQ when you know how. One of the great things about beef brisket is that it is large enough to share with a group of friends and family. Here is a tasty BBQ beef brisket recipe to try out.

Ingredients for the Sauce:

  • 1 ½ cups of ketchup
  • ½ cup of packed dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup of water
  • ¼ cup of finely chopped onion
  • 3 tablespoons of cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 chipotles finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon of ground black pepper

For the brisket:

  • ¼ cup of paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon of dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 five pound beef brisket

Put all of the ingredients for the BBQ sauce into a slow cooker and stir them thoroughly.

Put all of the ingredients for the brisket except the actual brisket into a bowl and then stir them thoroughly.

Put the beef brisket onto a cutting board and cut it in half along the width. Evenly coat the brisket with your spice rub and put the two pieces of brisket into the slow cooker. Cover and then cook on a low temperature for about ten hours until fork tender.

Place the beef brisket onto a clean cutting board. Pour the BBQ sauce from the slow cooker into a heatproof bowl.

Cut off fat from the brisket and throw it away. Slice the meat against the grain into quarter inch thick pieces and pubeef briskett it back in the slow cooker.

Skim and discard the fat from the surface of the BBQ sauce with a large spoon. Put the sauce back in the slow cooker and stir it gently. Add salt and pepper if required and serve.
